One of the most exciting things about lab grown diamonds is that they offer the opportunity for many more of us to purchase large and fine quality diamonds. This stone weighs 2.12ct and has a really substantial presence on the finger; a natural equivalent of this ring would cost several times its £6500 price tag. The combination of size and fine quality is particularly in evidence in our larger oval lab-grown diamonds; they really show off the beauty of such stones. This lab grown diamond has an online diamond grading report from GIA and is graded as E colour and VVS2 clarity. Colourless and with no visible inclusions, it has a superbly bright appearance and the cut allows the viewer to see into the heart of the stone. At this level, inclusions are very challenging for a diamond grader to find using 10x magnification, and once set it can often be impossible to see them. This clarity allows for excellent passage of light through the stone and if combined with good cutting, also excellent brilliance. This stone is beautifully cut with a wonderful oval outline and brightness throughout. The lab grown diamond is set in a pretty platinum collet with petal detail to the gallery. The 18ct yellow gold shank gives a classic look and the icy white appearance of the stone stands out in contrast against it. This would make a truly stunning engagement ring. Lab-grown diamonds share the composition and physical and optical properties of natural diamonds but are produced in a factory rather than occurring naturally deep inside the Earth. They are more affordable than their natural counterparts and as techniques advance prices are falling. Especially in larger sizes and finer qualities, the difference in price can be very attractive.
