Whether you're designing an engagement ring to propose to your partner, or embarking on your design journey together, creating a one-of-a-kind ring is incredibly exciting. Our experienced team of jewellers, jewellery specialists and goldsmiths are waiting to hear your engagement ring ideas, and will guide you through the bespoke engagement ring journey step by step, discussing all of the available options and sharing expert advice along the way.
What To Expect

Initial Consultation
We'll begin by asking you to tell us about your ideas and inspiration. You may have photos, or have seen things you like in our showroom. This is a great time to discuss things like laboratory grown diamonds vs natural diamonds, your metal options, and the qualities of the gemstones you're interested in. Most importantly we'll talk to you about your budget and what this means for your design options. From this consultation your jeweller will write a design brief.

Sourcing Gemstones
One of the most important decisions you will have to make in designing your engagement ring is choosing your gemstones. From our extensive network of suppliers we can source diamonds, sapphires, rubies, emeralds, tourmalines and more. Your jeweller will source the perfect gemstones for you, and share them with you either in person in our showroom, or via email using images and videos.

Developing Your Design
Using CAD (computer aided design) software we will create your design digitally, sharing 1-2 options with you via email. Working directly with your designer or jeweller, you'll have the opportunity to share your feedback and request refinements until you are happy with your design. For more complex designs we may also 3D print your ring for you to try on.

Approving Your Design
With your final design approved we can accurately calculate the amount of precious metal needed to create your ring and provide you with your final cost. Don't worry - we work within your budget through the entire process so there won't be any surprises at this stage. Once you've paid for your ring, we will begin the manufacturing process.
Making Your Ring
From our workshop, based onsite in our Sheffield showroom, our team of goldsmiths will manufacture your engagement ring, using both modern cast components and traditional goldsmithing techniques. It will then be sent for hallmarking at the Sheffield Assay Office, before a final inspection from one of our senior jewellers.
Once you have approved your design, you can expect your ring to be ready in approximately 6-10 weeks. When we begin making your ring we will be able to give you a more accurate estimate of how long it will take.
Bespoke Engagement Rings
'Proposal Ring' - Cubic Zirconia Solitaire Ring in Silver
If you are thinking of popping the question but are not sure what style of engagement ring your partner would like then our proposal ring may be the answer. It allows you the romance of proposing with a ring but removes the pressure of choosing the right one alone. You can then bring your partner into the showroom afterwards and enjoy the experience of selecting the perfect ring together. Your proposal ring will cost £125 which we will discount from the price of the engagement ring your partner chooses.
The design has been selected to reflect one of our most popular solitaire styles but has been crafted in sterling silver and set with a cubic zirconia. There are three options to choose from, each providing the equivalent of a different size of diamond. This means you can select the ring that fits in best with your ultimate budget, rather than having too large a stone that may not be replicated in the ring you eventually choose.

Do I need to book an appointment to discuss bespoke engagement rings with you?
Not at all. Simply visit our showroom when it is convenient for you, and a member of our team will discuss all of the available options. To ensure we can gather as much information as possible about your bespoke ring, please allow a minimum of 45 minutes.
How much will it cost?
The cost of your ring depends on the metal and gemstones you choose. A bespoke engagement ring can start at £500 and go beyond £20,000. If you are unsure how much you should spend, we always say to ignore any rules you may have heard (you absolutely do not need to spend three months' wages!), and tell us how much you are able to and would like to spend. During your initial consultation your jeweller will be able to give you an idea of what can be created for your budget, and share options and ideas with you from our extensive collection.
I have gold and/or gemstones I would like to use. Is this possible?
Absolutely. It's always a pleasure to work with sentimental pieces of jewellery, and to give them a new lease of life. Our goldsmiths can melt gold and platinum to include in your engagement ring, and we can incorporate gemstones. Simply bring them along when you visit us in-store and our jewellers will appraise them for you.
How long does it take?
The design process can take 1-2 weeks. Once you have approved your design, we expect your ring to be ready to collect in 6-10 weeks, depending on the complexity of your design.
Do you take a design deposit?
No, we don't take any payment from you until you are happy with your design and ready to proceed to manufacture.
